This European painted trunk begs to be seen up close. You can literally trace the places where its creator pulled his fingers through the paint to make some of the whimsical design. The faux painting, in blue, mustard, red and green combines with this trunk’s clean lines to produce a one-of-a-kind blanket chest and great object de art. We don’t know how old it is, but the metal trim around its keyhole certainly indicates age.

We’ve never before seen a bench quite like this 19th century Eastern European example. It retains it beautiful original finish, complete with faux painting and circles on its lower front. Surprise! Open the bench and pull out the base for a feather bed, where there is room for a child (or two) to sleep. The two-inch-thick arms at either end add to the sturdiness and allure of this 78x33x17 inch find.
